Why do Americans get offended by facts...?

It can not be denied that the American market have world wide influence, there are American companies with assets, properties and investments in foreign countries and not once they waged war because of such interests. So for all accounts, the United States is the imperialist empire of the time, for good or for worse.

Just like Great Britain once was before them, the only difference they were proud of that. I guess it is ironic that America became like the British who they fought to be free of. Plus the USA has military bases in over 36 countries in the middle east and Europe besides the American colonies and territories.
